Public Computer Management Approach
  1. National Chiao Tung University Library (Hereinafter is called the library) setup public computers in the library for reader’s use in response to reader’s needs in query data.
  2. The public computer set up in the library is only for the use as following, other usages are illegal use:
    1. Query Library Collection System of the library or the other libraries.
    2. Query the digital library resources provided by the library.
    3. Query academic research related resources.
  3. Penalties to users illegal use of public computers in the library are as following:
    1. To be requested to go outside the library.
    2. If school personnel, to suspend their right to borrow the books a month.
    3. If People outside the school, to suspend their right to admission entering the library a semester.
  4. When using public computers in the library, if any questions please notify the staff at the Circulation Desk; if any personnel to move equipment or remove any computer peripheral equipment without permission, the library will follow section 3 of the approach to process punishment, and if any damage of equipment is due to this, they shall be responsible to compensation.
  5. If personnel intentionally damage or steal public computer and other utilities, the library will process following section 3 requirement of the approach, if student will be reported to the relevant units of the Office of Student Affairs for punishment; if student from other school will be reported to respective school for punishment; if the social person will call the police for processing.
  6. Double punishment for repeat offenders, and depend on the seriousness to announce the offenders list.
  7. Person who reject to deal with the library staff, if is student in the school, the library will report the Office of Student Affairs and other relevant units for punishment; if student of other school will be reported to respective school for punishment; if the social person will call the police for processing.
  8. This approach will be implemented after approval of Library Affairs Council, same to the revised one.
