The popularity of Internet and WWW innovates the methods to access information. Many information providers (IP) who produce bibliographic databases and full-text journals offer their contents through WWW. Electronic resources accessed through WWW are becoming one major source of information.

As a distinguished research-oriented university, National Chiao-Tung University (NCTU) has the need to access the most up-to-date research information as quickly as possible. Observing that WWW would become the most important information source, Since 1995, NCTU has offered her researchers a service to access research information through WWW.

Up to now, the NCTU Digital Library has made available about 6500+ full-text electronic journals and 100+ bibliographic databases. The major providers of these databases and E-journals includes Academic Press, Elsevier, IEEE, OVID, ISI, EI, among others.
